DANSLAB is changing its course
The Hague, April 18th, 2012
PRESS RELEASE
Danslab says goodbye....& a new beginning.
We seize the moment to look back at our last event: 'Our Invisible City’ in October 2011, where we ‘celebrated the old, and welcomed the new’; and announced that Danslab as concept and as an organisation stops, at least for a little while.
Have a look at the short film on this event, made by Federico Bonelli.

Context
Convinced of the need to give freelance artists a new and larger platform, Danslab has formed the Network for Choreography and Related Arts in 2011.
We are now building a number of services (read functions) that the independent (dance)artist needs in order to work, to organize and to present. We are concentrating on services which create shared values with regard to: administration and contacting, studio spaces and flex workspaces, online communication and active archives, barter systems and work opportunities.
These services will be embedded in a so-called support structure, in which the various functions to operate are decentralized. The network is an open structure that relates to the dynamic of the work field. It is flexible, accessible, bottom-up developed and horizontally organized and includes the strengths of the artist and the qualities of a new generation. Independency, collaboration and creative entrepreneurship get stimulated.
The network is a learning environment for and by engaged artists, which provides an addition to and an alternative thinking model for the existing institutional frameworks.
If you are interested to know more or want to join us, do not hesitate to contact us! We believe in the empowerment of the artists by collectively building conditions for work for the near future!
