Projects
Artistic Research: Approached as a multifunctional instrument, where the artists themselves determine their own conditions, terms and tools for the process. We emphasize the importance of artistic research as a form of investigation in its own right. By taking into account the diverse structures that rise from individual approaches, we stimulate the flexibility of the term ‘artistic research’ and the potentials of its meaning.
The Danslab Frames: Platforms and working sessions to stimulate the (interdisciplinary) artistic discourse, exploration and improvement of recent questions and matters. In an open atmosphere, insights and questions are shared; multiple voices are juxtaposed and participants can venture into known and unknown depths. The focus is on inspiration, confusion and challenging each other.
Sharing the insides by research presentations: inside and outside the studio, increase the exchange between artists and public. By demonstrating research processes instead of final outcomes, we increase the understanding in the development of art, as well as give insides in the artist’s motives and ambitions. We consider the public as an active and valuable partner in discussions. The external presentations give us the chance to get in contact with different public groups.
Sharing the insides by creating an Open Knowledge Source: as a covering activity. With the development, archiving and sharing of artistic knowledge, we unfold, collect and make artistic information transparent and usable. It contributes the individual practices and those of others, inside and outside the arts. On this website you find various forms of documentation attached to the projects in text and/or visuals. When further developed, this is an activity that can be seen as a future investment, as emancipation of the choreographer and a new kind of outcome.
